Lindsey Adams Adelman was born in New York City in 1968. Her current work is the apex of a lifelong exploration in making objects. An ongoing interest in combining the hand-crafted with the machine-made, the sensual with the practical, and the feminine with the masculine consistently defines her work.
The inspiration for the versatile Kingdom lighting system came from the natural drape and growth patterns of the Burro's Tail plant. Each component of the spine is machined from solid aluminum and when assembled, fully articulates within its self-regulated range of motion, creating a rational curvature. The glass shades are mold-blown by hand and illuminated by LEDs.
