Ejvind A. Johansson built upon Børge Mogensen's ambition to furnish the homes of Danes with functional modernism. In general, Johansson was perceived as unorthodox in his methods and philosophies. Nevertheless, his J64 chair pays homage to principles of Mogensen's methodology.
Johansson’s chair draws a parallel to traditional Windsor, as well as Nordic folk furniture. The curved chair with sloping arms works as a comfortable dining chair, or a lounge chair facing a sofa.
