Luca Nichetto, whose practice is known for bridging the visual languages of Italy and Scandinavia, is one of the most vibrant and in-demand young designers working today.
With a background in exceptional craftsmanship and a formidable imagination, Nichetto has emerged as a multidisciplinary designer able to traverse the worlds of furniture, industrial design, architecture and interiors. Luca Nichetto was born in 1976 and grew up on the storied island of Murano, the centuries-old center of Venetian glass. There, creativity and master artisans, including his grandfather, a master glassmaker, surrounded him. Later, Nichetto studied at Istituto Statale d’Arte di Venezia and earned a degree in industrial design at the Università Luav di Venezia in 1998, leading to formative early projects with venerable Murano glassmaker Salviati and leading lighting company Foscarini.
Luca Nichetto’s eponymous studio was founded in 2006 with a focus on industrial design and consulting. In 2011 he relocated to Stockholm, Sweden, opening a second studio and extending his scope to interior design, architecture and brand collaborations (partners have included Nendo, Foscarini and Hem)
