Jacob Marks’ work is rooted in a philosophy that argues for the inextricability of good design and fine workmanship. Currently Marks serves as principal and lead designer for USA based Skram Furniture Company. His designs for Skram are defined by distinctive austerity and warmth and a timeless quality accentuated by the use of natural materials like timber, leather, stone, and metal.

Wooddrop is a stool/side table constructed of locally harvested, salvaged timber. The design juxtaposes rigid geometry with the ‘perfectly imperfect’ cracks and checks that form as large pieces of timber naturally dry.
