
Pasi Pänkäläinen graduated from the Institute of Design and and Fine Arts in Lahti, Finland in 1992 and continued his studies at the School of Arts, Design and Architecture in Helsinki. His career started from a cooperation with the Finnish furniture company Piiroinen, from where he has received the practical teachings about industrial furniture design. Since 1994 he has been working in his own company, the design studio Tiistai Oy. In addition to the furniture and auditoriums he has designed for Piiroinen, he has also designed everything from bathroom collections to trains.
A novel take on the traditional café table, Pasi Pankalainen’s Arena table, from Finnish company Piiroinen. The table features a sleek, white laminate top with a natural birch edge and a steel column.
